We are delighted to announce that from Friday 1st November 2024, Booth Wood Primary School will join the David Ross Education Trust (DRET).

DRET is a high-performing group of 35 (now 36) schools, including Charnwood College and Charnwood Forest Nursery in Loughborough, which both have a long-established relationship with Booth Wood Primary School.

DRET will build on Booth Wood Primary School's strengths, investing heavily in high quality training for all teaching and support staff and providing a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities for all pupils. Alongside DRET’s community-based ethos and commitment to driving ambition, the trust’s mission is to offer pupils a broad and balanced world class curriculum, supported by its highly regarded enrichment programme.

The DRET team have been working closely with Booth Wood Primary School and Headteacher Heather Sharpe, and have agreed that from Friday 1st November 2024, the school will be renamed as ‘Booth Wood Academy’. Staff from Booth Wood Primary School will transfer across to Booth Wood Academy.
